The ONGC Scholarship to Meritorious Students, it is initiated by the ONGC Foundation and it aims financially to support outstanding students from SC/ST/OBC and General Categories in pursuing their higher studies. This scholarship offers INR 48,000 per annum to first-year students in Engineering, MBBS, MBA, or Master’s in Geophysics/Geology programs. ONGC Foundation, established by ONGC, introduces this scholarship as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to assist exceptional students from marginalized sections of society.

Eligibility of ONGC Scholarship to Meritorious Students

To qualify, applicants must:

– Be currently enrolled in Engineering, MBBS, MBA, or a Master’s program in Geology or Geophysics.

– Have attained a minimum of 60% marks in Class 12 for Engineering or MBBS, or a minimum of 60% in graduation for PG courses in Geology, Geophysics, or MBA.

– Demonstrate an annual income of less than ₹ 2,00,000 from all sources.

Benefits of the ONGC Scholarship to Meritorious Students :

Students from the economically weaker section in the General category, who demonstrate merit and are pursuing professional courses like Engineering, Medical studies, or Master’s in Business Administration, Geology, and Geophysics, will be granted an annual scholarship of ₹48,000.

Documents needed ONGC Scholarship to Meritorious Students :

– Caste certificate in Hindi/English (certified copy)

– Proof of age: Birth certificate or Class 10 mark sheet

– For Engineering/MBBS students: Copy of Class 12 mark sheet

– For MBA/Master’s in Geology/Geophysics students: Copy of consolidated Graduation mark sheet

– Family’s annual income certificate (certified copy) in Hindi/English

– Applicant’s bank details in the prescribed ECS form, attested by the bank

– PAN card copy or an expected date of submission (if the original is unavailable)

– Aadhaar Card copy

– Undertaking copy

Terms and Conditions of ONGC Scholarship to Meritorious Students :

1. Specifically, reserve half of the scholarships for female students.
2. Disburse the scholarship amount annually, directly depositing it into the student’s bank account via the ECS facility after completing each academic year.
3. Renew the scholarship yearly until the student finishes their course, contingent upon the student advancing to the next academic year.
4. Require students to maintain a minimum of 60% or 6 grade points out of 10 in each semester examination to keep the scholarship.
5. Discontinue the scholarship if a student is not promoted to the next academic year by their institution.
6. Mandate the submission of a ‘Renewal Application‘ following the provided format for scholarship renewal.
7. Specify that if a student chooses a different scholarship after receiving the ONGC scholarship, they must reimburse the entire amount received from the ONGC Foundation.
8. Prohibit recipients from concurrently receiving benefits from any other scholarship or financial assistance, except for those receiving tuition fee waivers or reimbursement from the State Government.
9. Apply for the scholarship exclusively to full-time regular courses.
10. Determine the eligibility zone for the scholarship application based on the location of the University/Institute/College where the student completed the qualifying examination.
