The Khorana Program for Scholars is an Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF), in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, and WINStep Forward, presents the Khorana Program for Scholars. This initiative is open to Indian students pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biotechnology and related fields, offering them the opportunity to engage in research at renowned U.S. universities during the summer o for 10-12 weeks. Successful candidates will receive round-trip airfare, stipend, and health insurance.
Eligibility of Khorana Program for Scholars
To qualify, applicants must:
1. Be an Indian citizen enrolled in a recognised Institution of Higher Education in India.
2. Be a pre-final year student in any of the specified courses within Biotechnology and allied areas (including agriculture, food, health, biomedical sciences, and interdisciplinary areas like Computational Sciences, Big Data, Machine Learning, etc.) at recognised institutions of higher education in India, such as B.Tech., M. Tech., M.Sc., B.E., M.E., M.S., Integrated B.SM.S., B.Sc., B.V.Sc., M.V.Sc., B. Pharm., M. Pharm., MBBS, or Master’s degree in Medical Science and Technology (MMST).
3. Have a minimum of one year remaining to complete their course in India.
4. Attain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 8.0 or higher, a percentage of 80% and higher, or a minimum of 65% and higher if the applicant is an MBBS student.
