TNPSC Group-II A

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducts Group-II A examinations for Non-Interview roles, including positions like Personal Clerk, Assistant, and Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) in various government departments.

I.Steps/Stages in Selection Process Group-II A:

The selection process is of two stages

Preliminary Exam

1. It’s an objective-type paper with multiple-choice questions.
2. The exam is for 300 marks in total, and the minimum passing score is:
     – Minimum marks: (90/300) marks

Main Exam:

The main exam consists of two papers:
    – Paper-I: English/Tamil (40/100) marks.
Note : (This paper is compulsory and the candidate has to obtain 40 marks out of 100. The answer sheet of the candidate who passes this paper alone will be valued in paper II)
  – Paper II: General Studies (90/300) marks.

II. Post and Eligibility of Group-II A:

Note: Please note that for Candidates who pass a Degree in distance education, you must have passed SSLC (10th) and then Higher Secondary (+2). Getting a degree in distance education after a pass in SSLC (10th exam) will end up with disqualification.

III.Scale of Pay:

The pay scale for the TNPSC group-IIA position is as follows Pay Scale:
Rs.20, 000 to Rs.1,34,200

Application Fees:

One-time Registration Fee: Rs.150/ – (valid for 5 years)
Examination Fees: Rs.100/-
Main Exam Fee: Rs.150/-

Important Documents needed for the application Group-II A:

IV.Certificates to be submitted are the v following:

• SSLC/HSC Certificate (Date of Birth Verification)
• Priority Selection for Tamil Medium (PSTM) Certificate (who studied in Tamil Medium)
• Disability Certificate (for PH candidates)
• No Objection Certificate
• Additional Supporting Documents for Reservation
• Educational Certificates (as specified in the application)
• Community Certificate
• Typewriting/Shorthand Certificates

Note: To qualify under the PSTM quota, the candidate must have completed their education in Tamil Medium from SSLC, 12th, and degree.

V. ID and Photographs needed:

• Ensure the photo with a signature is uploaded with dimensions of 165×123 pixels and is below 50 kb in jpg format.
• Upload a scanned copy of the signature with dimensions of 80×125 pixels, keeping it below 20 kb in jpg format.
• Upload the scanned image of the left thumb imprint in jpg format, keeping it below 50 kb.
• Applicants must provide identification documents like Aadhar, driver’s license, PAN card, passport, or voter ID during the application process and bring a physical copy of the uploaded ID along with their exam hall ticket on the exam day

Documents needed for verification after being selected for Group II A

• Educational Qualification Certificates: Your SSLC (10th) certificate, your higher secondary (12^th) certificate and your graduation certificate for Age proof.
• Community Certificate: To specify your community as (SC, ST, OBC, & others)
• Nativity Certificate (if necessary): If you’re claiming to be a resident of Tamil Nadu, submit a nativity certificate.
• Differently Abled Certificate (For physically handicapped candidates): If you have a disability, include a certificate to ensure it.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC): If you have a current job, get permission from your Manager.
• Photo ID Proof: Show a valid photo ID like an Aadhar card, voter ID, passport, or driver’s license.
• Passport-size Photographs: Attach recent photos (colour) as instructed.
• Payment Receipt: As proof of application fee payment.
• Self-Declaration Form: Complete a form saying you don’t have any criminal history and disciplinary actions.
• Other Supporting Documents: These are mentioned in the official notice, like experience certificates (if needed)
• Two copies of the conduct certificate are to be submitted.
